Securitize (NYSE: SECZ, ~$5B AUM) launched Securitize Stocks today at 13:00 UTC: 12 tokenized US mega-caps — including Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Tesla, Circle, Strategy and Palantir — each backed 1:1 by a real share, settling in USDC on Solana with Jump Trading running the proprietary AMM and clearing firm RQD* handling custody and settlement. It is the first product live under the SEC's five-year Innovation Exemption for onchain stock trading, granted September 17.
What happened: Securitize launched Securitize Stocks, a platform offering fully backed tokens of 12 major US stocks to eligible investors in the US, EU and other permitted jurisdictions. Trading is live through Securitize's registered broker-dealer on Solana, settles in USDC, starts in extended hours and is planned to move to 24/7. Jump Trading makes markets via a PropAMM (an AMM run by a professional liquidity provider); clearing firm RQD* supports clearing, custody and settlement. Ripple Prime plans to support the tokens and explore adding them to its institutional trading business.
Key differentiator: each token is a security entitlement under Article 8 of the Uniform Commercial Code — the same framework governing shares at a brokerage. Holders receive dividends and, where the class has them, voting rights; underlying shares won't be lent out; tokens can convert to direct registry ownership once issuers adopt tokenization. CEO Carlos Domingo: 'Tokenized stocks should give investors more than a price on a wrapper that tracks a stock and is only offered offshore.'
Comparison: The launch lands three weeks after the SEC's five-year Innovation Exemption for onchain trading of fully backed stock tokens (September 17), one week after the OKX-ICE joint venture published its 24/7 tokenized-securities venue plan (October 4), and follows Securitize's March MoU to help build the NYSE's tokenized platform. Tokens are expected to list on the NYSE's planned 24/7 digital venue and OKXICE — both pending regulatory approval.
Why it matters: This is the first live, US-regulated bridge between mega-cap equities and public-chain settlement, with Wall Street-grade plumbing (RQD* clearing, Jump liquidity) rather than the offshore synthetic wrappers that dominated until now.
Anthropic's much-anticipated IPO prospectus — reported in detail by Reuters and the Financial Times — pursues a $2 trillion valuation while disclosing a $42 billion net loss for 2025 and plans to spend $518 billion on cloud, computing, and infrastructure in the coming year. Roughly 80 of the filing's 261 main-body pages cover risk factors, including that advanced AI could pose 'catastrophic or existential risks to humanity,' versus 48 pages describing the business. Nvidia separately disclosed that Anthropic has more than $180 billion in contracted compute commitments — 2.5GW of Nvidia infrastructure shipping through 2028.
